The Court made Electronic Self-Representation (eSR) program available to pro se debtors through its website. The eSR program enables self-represented debtors to prepare and submit chapter 7 petitions electronically.
On May 20, 2014, the Court’s Community Outreach Committee, chaired by Bankruptcy Judge Sandra R. Klein, organized the district-wide Law Day celebration for approximately 80 high school students who are members of Junior State of America (JSA).
Despite the ongoing decline in bankruptcy filings, the Central District of California led the nation in the number of cases initiated for the seventh consecutive year. A total of 57,356 petitions were filed in the Central District.
